Batman: Arkham Remnants is a 2014 action-adventure video game developed by Rocksteady Studios and released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Based on the DC Comics superhero Batman, it is a sequel to the 2011 video game Batman: Arkham City. It was globally released for consoles beginning in North America on October 20, 2014 followed by the Microsoft Windows version on November 14 of the same year.

The game's story was written by authors Greg Rucka, Chuck Dixon and Ed Brubaker, all of which are veteran comic-book writers who have contributed to various Batman and other DC Comics publications. The story is, like its predecessors, based on the franchise's comic book mythos. The storyline takes place several weeks after Arkham City and revolves around Batman as he must save Gotham from the violent inmates who have escaped from the now terminated mega-prison Arkham City. In a sequel comic (that would be considered a prequel to Arkham Remnants) to Arkham City, Batman finds that the Joker's legacy lives on as one last "joke" by the villain is carried out by his henchmen, who place several inconspicuous bombs around the walls of Arkham City in an attempt to free the inmates within. The Dark Knight fails to stop the plot and the walls of Arkham City are blown to pieces, allowing the dangerous prisoners to run rampant within Gotham City and eventually stage an uprising. In Arkham Remnants, Batman must quell the riots and ultimately save Gotham from becoming a lawless region filled with injustice and chaos.
