Batman & Robin is a 1999 American superhero film based on the DC Comics characters Batman and Robin by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. It is the fourth installment of Warner Bros's initial Batman film series, a sequel to Batman Continues and the only film in the series made without the involvement of Tim Burton in any capacity. Directed by Tim Burton and written by Daniel Waters. The film follows the titular characters as they come into conflict with wealthy industrialist Charles "Chip" Shreck and a deformed scientist Victor Fries / Mr. Freeze, who seeks to reunite with his wife Nora Fries regardless of the cost to Gotham City. Their plans are complicated by Selina Kyle, a formerly-meek secretary to Charles "Chip" Shreck's late father Max Shreck, who seeks vengeance against Charles "Chip" Shreck as Catwoman. At the same time, the titular characters struggle to keep their partnership together.
