Batman Triumphs is a 1998 superhero film directed by Sam Raimi and produced by Tim Burton and Denise Di Novi, and is the fourth installment of Warner Bros. initial Batman film series, following Batman Continues with Michael Keaton and Marlon Wayans reprising the roles of Bruce Wayne / Batman and Dick Grayson Robin respectively. It also stars Brad Douriff as Jonathon Crane / The Scarecrow and Christopher Lee as as Hugo Strange, and introduces Winona Ryder as Barnara Gordon / Batgirl. It also features Bruce Campbell in an unspecified role.
After directing Batman Continues, Tim Burton stepped down from the role of director, although he would continue to oversee the future of the franchise as producer, being responsible for much of the hiring for cast and crew, and would approve the scripts, continuing to bring creative contributions. For this film, Burton brought on Sam Raimi, who directed the 1990 superhero film Darkman, and The Evil Dead Trilogy. Danny Elfman returns to score the film. Elfman had previously worked with Raimi on Army of Darkness and Darkman.
It is followed by 2001's Batman Crusades.
