Batman and Robin is the 4rth film of Tim Burton's Batman Movie series, the last film was titled Batman Continues.
Chapter 1: Mr Freeze[]
The film begins with Batman and Robin in the Batcave, Robin says that he wants a car, and that chicks digs the car, Batman say that this is why Superman works alone, Batman and Robin jump in the Batmobile and drive away, We then go to the Gotham Museum, Mr Freeze is freezing the place up, Batman is hiding on top of the building, and eventually reveals himself to Mr Freeze, throwing a Batarang at him, Batman spreads out his cape and jump kicks him, Freeze uses his freeze gun on Batman, but he dodges and jams the gun with a Batarang, Batman walks up to Mr Freeze, but Freeze uses a jetpack to fly away from the crime scene, he crashes through the glass and flies away, Robin arrives at the crime scene, later. Batman: You're late. Robin: Well atleast I'm here,
Meanwhile at Mr Freeze's lair, he watches TV, he then takes out a snowglobe and looks at it, it has a statue of woman in it, Freeze: I'm sorry my love, I failed you, I wish there was another way to say it, the man who took you from me will soon learn that revenge is a dish best served cold. Back at the Batcave, Robin talks to Batman about Mr Freeze, Robin: We need to stop this guy or he's going to freeze the whole city! Batman: We need to think of a plan first, we can't stop him without a plan. Robin: That's what you always say, he's just a guy in an ice suit, I can take him! Batman: What do you mean? Robin: I'm defeating him by myself. Batman: No Robin, it's too dangerous. Robin: What is so dangerous about him? You jammed his gun. Batman: And what if that gun gets unjammed? Robin: Seriously? I could just dodge his gun. Batman: NO! You're not ready yet! Robin: I don't care, just let me fight my own enemies! Batman: He's not your enemy, he's mine! Robin: Shut up Bruce. Robin drives away on the Batcycle, Batman bears a worried look.
Robin burst through the door of the Snowy Cones Ice Cream factory with the Batcycle, Freeze goes to check what the sound was, Mr Freeze: Oh, if it isn't Robin, where's Batman? Robin: On a break. Freeze grabs his freeze gun and aims it at Robin, Robin jumps at Freeze and tries to punch his glass helmet, but he grabs Robin and throws him down, Robin jump kicks Freeze and fights him with a series of punches and kicks, Robin tries to deliver the final blow, but before he can do that, Freeze catches Robin offguard and freezes him with his freeze gun. Freeze walks away from him and watches TV again.
Batman gets increasingly worried about Robin and jumps into the Batmobile and drives to the Ice Cream Factory, he sees Robin frozen, and he bears an angry look, he uses a thawer to thaw him out, Batman brings Robin back to the Batcave. Batman: What are you doing? Are you trying to get killed? Robin: No, I just wanted to do what you couldn't. Batman: I said we couldn't beat him without a plan! Robin: I don't care. Batman: You don't care if you die? Robin: Die? I survived this time so why can't I survive next time? Batman: What if I'm not there? Robin is speechless, he walks away angrily.
We then cut to Arkham Asylum, Mr Freeze has frozen the guards and walks near some cells, he then comes across a cell labeled: Matthew Hagen. He freezes the cell door and punches through it, in the cell, Matthew Hagen AKA is attempting to make pottery with some molding clay, Mr Freeze: I'm planning to get revenge on Batman, want to join? Clayface: Ok.
Chapter 2: Mr Freeze and Clayface[]
Freeze walks out with the villain, and we then cut to the Batcave, Batman is looking on the Batcomputer, he is alerted of a breakout at Arkham Asylum, and drives to the asylum, He walks in, but the criminals have already escaped. Batman: Damn it.
Robin is in the campfire room, listening to the crackle of the campfire, Bruce Wayne: Hey. Dick Grayson: You scared the hell out of me, what is it? Bruce: There's been a massive breakout at Arkham Asylum, do you want to come with me? Dick begins thinking, and then says: Yes, as if you hadn't just yelled at me. Bruce: It was for you're own safety. Dick: Fine. Let's go then.
Mr Freeze, and Clayface are hiding at the Snowy Cones Ice Cream factory, Batman and Robin sneak in, Batman grapples onto Mr Freeze's suit and kicks him in the face. Robin: That was your plan? Batman: Yeah that probably wasn't the best plan in the world. Clayface shape-shifts his hand into a hammer and attacks Batman, he slides under him and grabs a water hose and sprays it at him, Clayface blocks it and Mr Freeze blasts at Batman, Clayface shape-shifts into Robin, Batman and Robin attack Mr Freeze except Robin smiles and then attacks Batman. Batman: Robin what are you doing. Robin laughs maniacally and turns back into Clayface. Batman dodges Clayface's attacks and attacks Mr Freeze, the real Robin joins Batman, they begin tagteaming Mr Freeze until Clayface knocks them both out. Mr Freeze: Knocked them out cold.
Freeze has frozen both of them to the ceiling and they wake up. Mr Freeze: Ahh you're awake, you know, I'm kind of sad I have to get rid of such vigilant people, but I've simply been through too much pain, and you two will have to feel the icy touch of death. Batman takes out a heat beam and heats away the ice. they fall down and grapple up. Mr Freeze: I will get you next time Batman.
Meanwhile at Wayne Manor, a new visitor arrives, Barbara Wilson, Alfred Pennyworth's niece, she says that she has come to visit Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne asks why and Barbara replies that Alfred's sick and she wants to visit him one last time before he dies, Bruce Wayne is shocked and devastated by the news, and asks if there's anything they can do to help, Barbara responds that it's a terminal illness, Barbara goes into Alfred's room and Bruce is left there speechless.
We then cut to Dick Grayson, he overhears Barbara talking to Alfred and walks into the room, he sees Alfred on the bed and Barbara talking to him, Dick is confused, Dick: Who are you? Barbara: Barbara Wilson, Alfred' niece, he has a terminal illness and that she wants to visit him one last time before he dies. Dick looks at Barbara with a mix of emotions, sadness, and anger. He is angry that Bruce didn't tell him about this, and closes the door. He walks to Bruce and tells him: I heard that Alfred has a terminal illness, why didn't you tell me? is this another one of your secrets? Bruce: I didn't know, I'm sorry. Dick: Oh ok, I thought this was another secret, I was about to yell at you for a whole minute. Bruce rolls his eyes and walks off.
Barbara eventually walks out of the manor. We then cut to a motorcycle race where Barbara is racing against multiple other people, however, Mr Freeze enters the race and begins to freeze parts of the race, everyone begins screaming and Batman and Robin arrive, Batman grapples Mr Freeze's freeze gun out of his hand and it falls to the ground, Freeze runs up to Batman and they begin fighting, Freeze punches Batman down and grabs his freeze guns and begins running away, Robin runs after him but Batman stops him. Batman: Don't. That won't get us anywhere.
Next we see Freeze standing near a body of water with a few boats, he freezes the water and the fishermen quickly run out of their boats, however, Batman and Robin arrive in the Batboat, they chase after Freeze and he gets into his iceberg boat and drives away in the water, the Batboat grapples onto the iceberg but Mr Freeze freezes the grapple and it falls off of the iceberg.
Freeze releases landmines from his boat and they dodge the landmines, however, a new boat arrives, it is a brown boat with a design reminiscent of Clayface's clay-like skin on it, it is Clayface, he begins shooting clay from a cannon his boat at the Batboat, making Batman and Robin unable to see, they swerve all over the place, but a new vigilante arives and attaches a grapple gun to Freeze's and Clayface's boats, Freeze attempted to freeze the vigilante but he accidentally freezes Clayface's boat, and he shape-shifts wings and flies away from his boat before it sinks, the vigilante grapples onto Clayface, preventing him from flying away, the vigilante struggles to hold both Freeze's iceberg and Clayface, she eventually lets go of Clayface and he flies away, Mr Freeze freezes the grapple and it falls down, the Batboat is now swerving all over the place because of the clay on the window, Batman and Robin evacuate from the Batboat, and glide towards the vigilante, they ask her what she's doing and who she is, the vigilante reveals herself as Barbara Wilson and takes the name Batgirl. Batman: What are you doing? Batgirl: I'm just trying to help you guys, Alfred told me you were Bruce and Dick. Batman and Robin share a shocked look. Batman: You're going to get yourself killed, you're not ready for this game. Batgirl: Why not? Batman: You don't have the training, the skills, go back to school Barbara. Batgirl: No! Batman: Ok, but only for one night, I don't want another member of my family to die.
We then cut to Gotham Streets, a familiar figure is watching from afar, it is Selina Kyle AKA Catwoman, she watches the streets from afar, and then sees Robin investigating for Mr Freeze and Clayface, Catwoman jumps down, and Robin looks behind him, he sees Catwoman behind him. Robin: You're Catwoman, aren't you? Didn't you try to kill Batman? Catwoman: Now why would I do that? Robin: Listen, I don't know why you're here, but you need to leave now. Catwoman: Sorry Birdboy, but I'm not leaving. Robin throws a punch at her, Catwoman catches his punch and easily tackles him to the ground, she then ties him up and leaves him for Batman. Catwoman: I guess I'll just leave you for Batman, I've got other things to do. Robin: THIS ISN'T OVER! Catwoman backflips away.
Meanwhile, Clayface and Mr Freeze have split up, we first see Clayface turn back into his civilian identity and walks to Daggett Industries, he enters the building and then disguises himself as a henchman, Roland Daggett looks at him, Roland Daggett: Do I know you? Clayface: Yes you do. He turns back into Clayface and Roland Daggett is shocked. Clayface: Remember me Daggett? The one you tried to kill?! Roland Daggett: You! Germs, Bell, get over here, Clayface easily dispatches the henchmen and walks up to Daggett, Roland Daggett: Listen Hagen I'm so sorry! Can't we just make this up? Clayface: NO! You tried to kill me, now I kill you.
Daggett runs away and gets into a truck, he tries to run over Clayface but he splatters the window with clay, Daggett crashes the truck into a wall and Clayface laughs to himself, Mr Freeze is then shown taking out the snowglobe with his wife Nora Fries in it again and watches it, a music box begins to play and his eyes are now glued to the snowglobe, a henchman interrupts him: Sir! before he can say another word, he freezes him with his freeze gun and continues watching the snowglobe.
Chaper 3: Batgirl[]
Daggett and his henchman have ran away from Clayface, and he comes across Catwoman. She pins him up to a building Catwoman: Aren't you the guy that tried to infect Miss Kitty with a disease? Roland Daggett: Get her! Catwoman easily takes out the henchmen and Catwoman knocks Daggett out.
Meanwhile, Batman finds Robin tied up, Batman: What happened to you? Robin: Catwoman tied me up. Batman: Catwoman? Robin: Yeah! Batman: Robin, she isn't a threat, don't try to fight her. Robin: Why? Batman: Listen, Selina isn't evil, she's just... Robin stops him. Robin: Ok I've heard enough.
Meanwhile at the Batcave, Batman, Robin and Batgirl discuss a plan to defeat Freeze and Clayface, they eventually come up with a plan, and go to Mr Freeze's lair, the trio break down the door, and begin fighting Freeze's henchmen, they take all his men down, and Batman tackles Freeze to the ground, however, Daggett points a gun at both Freeze and Batman, he shoots at Batman, but he dodges and it goes through Freeze's helmet, barely missing his head, Batman punches Daggett down and he runs inside his lair and grabs the snowglobe, Daggett threatens to destroy it, Mr Freeze: NO! Please don't! That is the only memory of her I have left! Daggett laughs and Batman takes the globe away from him, Freeze points his freeze gun at Daggett, Clayface arrives in his human form and Robin and Batgirl back up, Daggett runs away and Batman, Robin and Batgirl all chase him, Clayface and Freeze soon follow, eventually they corner him, and Daggett is tied up, with Daggett gone, Batman, Robin and Batgirl chase after Freeze and Clayface, Clayface turns back into his normal form and fights the trio, he is taken down with a freeze grenade, and they then chase after Freeze, Freeze climbs up to the top of a building and Batman, Robin and Batgirl grapple up to the top, Freeze is then shown, threatening to kill Daggett, Mr Freeze: You! You... Freeze begins to pull the trigger, but Batman throws at Batarang at the gun, Daggett and Freeze fall to the ground.
A small glass bottle rolls out of his hand, Batman: What is that? Mr Freeze: It's a cure for my wife. Batman: I could use one of those. Mr Freeze: For what? Batman: There's a man who's dying, he has a disease. Mr Freeze: Wait a minute, is it Alziemers? Batman: Yes it is. Mr Freeze: Ok, take this, but what about my wife? Batman: Wayne Enterprises will cover that. Mr Freeze falls unconscious.
We then cut to a newspaper bundle, the first one reads "Freeze and Clayface sent to Arkham Asylum" the second reads "Crime Boss Roland Daggett brought to justice" the third reads "Nora Fries Cured" .
We then see Nora Fries visit Victor Fries AKA Mr Freeze in Arkham Asylum. Mr Freeze: Nora? Nora: Yes Victor. It's me. Mr Freeze: Nora. I love you. Victor Fries sheds a tear. Nora: I know Victor. I know. Clayface is also sitting in his cell, with a sad face. Clayface: You're not getting away next time Daggett. We then cut to Catwoman. Batman is standing triumphantly on top of a building, Catwoman approaches him. Batman: Selina? Catwoman: It's me, Bruce. Batman: I haven't seen you for a while, where have you been?. Catwoman: Places. Batman: Is that so? Catwoman: Yes. Batman: so what are you plans for the future. Catwoman: I don't know, I don't really have plans. Before Batman can reply, Catwoman is shown backflipping away.
The Danny Elfman Batman Theme plays as we go up to the same rooftop the 1989 film ended on, instead with Batman, Robin and Batgirl looking up at the Batsignal, ready to go to work. Alfred looks outside the window and smiles, They're capes flow in the wind and the movie ends.
