This cancelled reboot of the Batman film franchise was to be a film series based on the DC Comics character Batman, created by Bob Kane. A total of ten films were planned. Darren Aronofsky was originally been confirmed as the director for the first three films, with Bryan Singer as producer, and Christoper Nolan, Jonathan Nolan, and Emma Thomas as executive producers. The project was cancelled, however, when The Batman entered pre-production, when writer David S. Goyer and Alfred Gough (co-creator of Smallville) proposed a live-action television series instead. The film series has since become the television series Knight of Gotham.
